Yesterday I went to the Oregon Vintage Motorcycles (OVM) show and swap meet and came across this tastefully done 1981 Honda CX500. Which helped me think about my 1980 CX500 that is finally in running order, and I’m starting to think about the direction I will take it. It will not be a caferacer, it will be more of a flat tracker. There will be some frame cutting, but it will be a lot less intrusive than what this guy has done. These are sandy tracks and at times with ruts hidden below shallow sand cover, making for very interesting riding. Other than that, speed is your friend, and the WR250R struggles on deeper sand. A 500cc bike calls my name for this kind of riding!
