Oregon is a nice location in the world. And it is a great place for someone who likes riding motorcycles – besides the nice geography and mild winters, it has a great assortment of paved and unpaved roads for one to enjoy riding just about any motorcycle type and suitable to any riding style.

In this space I will be reporting some of my rides in Oregon, as well as other states. But mostly it is about rides in Oregon. And I will discuss other subjects as well and as appropriate. I’m not too fanatical about writing, so you won’t find daily posts here. Maybe weekly. I’m not a great writer either, but you will see nice photographs of nice locations, and photographs of motorcycles. And few action videos here and there.

For personal notes and thoughts, where you will find any resemblance to something less superficial, click on “The Book“. I’ve been enjoying this area of this blog. If I would ever write a book out of this blog, it would probably be an edited version of this growing session of the blog. As it is now, when you click on “The Book“, you will get the string of stories, from newest to oldest, a thread that resembles what I would like to have in my book. Part autobiography, part a collection of stories, part descriptions of things I like, it is about my perspective in this world, on personal and other matters that are important to me.
The “Film Reviews” session is not a straight forward film review section. But it covers the topic of films that are either connected to motorcycles or film locations I’ve been to while riding a motorcycle.

I just bought the same PP Multi and simply love it
Can you provide the details of the Pelican rear tail rack and mounting. I think it makes a great option. I need to buy a rack anyway so why not learn from one who has already done so. Eventually I will go with SW Motech or similar aluminum panniers and a top rack box, but for now a need a less expensive option

I mounted the case on top of the Ducati Performance rack (but I wonder if it could be mounted on top of the four attachment points on the Multistrada rear rack). It could also have been mounted using one of Caribou’s universal mounting plates (although I think they stopped producing their smaller plate). Instead, I bought a set of four wing nuts and screws that start at the DP rack and go up and through the case. The wing nuts are hand tight (larger washers outside and inside the case to offer the plastic of the case some protection). In a couple of minutes I can remove the case without any tools. It is a very simple approach. Not perfect, as the wing nuts are visible inside the case and could damage things that lay on top of them with vibration on long trips. I will work on something to prevent that to happen.

I lived in Waldort/Newport for 7 years and knew Doug. He gave me a free cd of his music. My wife created a prayer channel 2 years ago and used this music and has touched over 1 Million peoples lives, thanks to Doug and I have been trying to get him credit but can not find him. Neat stuff, Cesar. We’ve very similar tastes in bikes…I’ve also got a WRR, and am planning on buying an 800XC this spring for the longer trips.
Stumbled upon your blog upon seeing your YouTube video for the Great Basin bag on your 800XC. I’ve got their Fandango bag for my WRR, so appreciate the quality gear. You happy with the Great Basin on your 800XC? Any need for exhaust shielding?

Hi Bill,
I’m really happy with the Great Basin bag. It is larger than the Coyote bag, and I really like that, once I arrive at a destination, I can walk away from the bike with all my gear with me on one trip from the bike to the hotel or campsite.
No problems with shielding. The original exhaust has a shield (so does the Arrows exhaust), which protects the bag. I’m thinking about installing another exhaust (Leo Vince or similar) that are smaller than the OEM (or the Arrows for that matter) and I wonder myself if a smaller diameter will clear the bag and I won’t need a shield.

When are you going todo a indepth review of the new multistrada dvt and compare it to previous versions and GS? I am surprised at lack proper road tests on this bike besides the press launch first rides. I remember Bike magazine doing massive tours to test the liquid cooled GS when it launched – new multi not significant enough?

Hey Rick, thanks for checking on me. It is all good, just very, very busy. Between the holidays and work, not much time for riding or writing.
